Middle School at Holy Name of Jesus is a time of preparation as our students get ready to make the transition to high school. Our fifth through seventh grade curriculum consists of six core classes and six enrichment classes to provide a well-rounded education for your child.
In English Language Arts, students read classic and contemporary literature while they master crucial writing and grammar skills with the use of Shurley English. Mathematics covers many standards while also placing emphasis on the development of critical problem-solving skills. Through hands-on instruction in our science lab, students explore the concepts of life, earth, and physical sciences.
Technology is an important component of education at Holy Name.Through the use of Chromebooks, we are able to enhance the curriculum and provide a blended learning environment. In middle school, we also offer an advanced track of learning for our students who would benefit from a more challenging program of studies.
Middle school is also a time when our students take on more responsibility, from changing classes for each subject, to having their own lockers, to becoming leaders within our school community. We make lots of memories through traditions that our students look forward to, including an overnight retreat in seventh grade. We focus on character development, friendship and helping our students grow into leaders as they prepare to make the transition to high school.
