Our seventh grade class of 2021 celebrated their final Mass together as a class on May 26, followed by an awards and promotion ceremony. We are so proud of this class and their strong leadership this past year. We congratulate each member of the class on their outstanding achievements!
Awards presented included:
Honorable Gators: The honorable gator awards for the virtue of kindness were presented to Aiden Boykins and Julia Bayer.
Choir Leadership Award: This award is presented to a choir student who truly embodies a commitment to leadership and involvement in our choir. This student must have exhibited outstanding overall service and demonstrated efforts that have benefited and improved the choir experience here at Holy Name of Jesus School. This was awarded to Keshaun Tervalon.
Artistic Excellence Award: This award is earned by a seventh grade choir student who represents the highest caliber of musicianship, artistry, enthusiasm, and dedication to the art of choral singing. This was awarded to Natalie Patrias and Nathan Smith.
HNJ Choir Member Award: This award is presented to students whose participation in HNJ Choir has been exemplary during their fifth, sixth, and seventh grade year. This was awarded to Hailey Barron, Nathan Smith, Caroline Favre, Sadie Bruno, Maria Radka, Natalie Patrias, Keshaun Tervalon, Ellie Morgan, Tina Gray, Olivia Erspamer, Yvonne Lyons, and Jack McClure.
Music Scholar Award: This award is presented to a seventh grade student who frequently contributes to music enrichment class discussions. This student respectfully provides his/her own ideas and solutions to musical problems and concepts. This was awarded to Caroline Favre.
Young Artist Instrumental Award: The recipient of this award must demonstrate proficiency in playing the ukulele or another instrument in which the student displays outstanding musical performance, of such a caliber that they play with creativity and expression as to express a deep understanding of such music. This was awarded to John Dillworth.
Musical Theater Award: The recipient of this award must demonstrate outstanding skills in areas of acting, vocal production, and dance. This student must show great ability on the stage, and successfully engage the audience, resulting in a high caliber aesthetic and artistic performance. This was awarded to Nathan Smith.
Sacristans: These students were dedicated and responsible in fulfilling their duties of the care of the sacristy and setting up the church, and occasionally the auditorium, for weekly school masses and also scheduling altar servers each week. We recognize and thank Ellie Green, Grace Blamphin, and Isabella Quintana.

Outstanding Overall Academic Achievement Award: The award for Outstanding Overall Academic Achievement for all subjects for the 7th grade class was presented to Natalie Cage.

The Academy of the Sacred Heart awarded the Heidingsfelder Family Scholarship to Olivia Keller.
Natalie Cage was awarded the Sr. Waldia Warden, O.P. Scholarship to St. Mary’s Dominican High School. Academic scholarships are awarded on the basis of standardized test scores, placement test scores, and the student’s school record.
Olivia Erspamer was awarded the Superior Energy Inc, Scholarship from Ursuline Academy due to outstanding academic achievement, commitment to service, and good conduct.
Addie Kent received a Scholarship to De La Salle High school.
Danielle Morgan is the recipient of the Dr. and Mrs. William Dardis Scholarship. Academic scholarships are awarded on the basis of standardized test scores, placement test scores, and the student’s school record.
Natalie Patrias, was selected to receive a Mount Carmel Academy Academic Scholarship. These scholarships are highly sought after and very prestigious. Scholarship recipients must have excellent academic records paired with a dedication to family, church and service.
Isabella Quintana was awarded the Emmanuel & Madeleine Blessey Scholarship from Ursuline Academy.
Keshaun Tervalon received the Certificacion de Calificacion which shows he achieved the A2 level of proficiency in Spanish.
Daughters of the American Revolution Youth Citizenship Medal: This medal and certificate is presented to a student who has shown outstanding qualities of service, courage, leadership, honor, patriotism, and concern for others. This year’s award was presented to Emi Lou Nathan.
Mother McCauley Award: Mother Catherine McCauley, the foundress of the Sisters of Mercy, was driven by love and especially by these words of Jesus which inspired her vision: “I have come so that they may have life and have it to the full.” To enjoy life to the fullest requires above all, the experience of love: the love of family, love of friends, and the love of God. Exemplifying Mother McCauley’s qualities of leadership, courage, service, and kindness, this year’s award was presented to Olivia Keller.
St. Ignatius Loyola Award: St. Ignatius Loyola, the founder of the Society of Jesus, lived by the motto Ad majorem Dei gloriam (for the greater glory of God). Ignatitus decided that he would use the talents God had given him-his strength, leadership, ability, bravery, and his intelligence to serve God and God’s people. Exemplifying St. Ignatius' qualities, this year’s award was presented to Keshaun Tervalon.
PK and Kindergarten through 7th Grade Recognition: The Divine Mercy medals were presented in recognition of the following students who have been students at Holy Name of Jesus School from Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten through Seventh Grade: Jacques Airhart, Prinzalina Wallis, Ty Woolf, Grace Blamphin, Logan Bodenheimer, Sadie Bruno, Natalie Cage, Cecile Christovich, Lyah Crump, Jolie D'Amour, John Dillworth, Lillian Elms, Treneesha Gray, Elizabeth Green, Olivia Keller, John McClure, Danielle Morgan, Isabella Quintana, Chance Ross, Nathan Smith, and Christian Strickland.
