On Tuesday, May 3, we celebrated our 2022 recipient of the Archdiocese Distinguished Alumni Award, Mr. Graham Jarrott. The morning began with another HNJ Alumnus, Jonah Keller, who spoke and presented the award along with Ms. Wilberg to Graham at De La Salle’s Principal Assembly followed by an event at the Archdiocese.
Graham graduated from HNJ in 1993. He has been an outstanding coach, teacher, and mentor in the New Orleans Catholic high school community for the past nineteen years. After coaching and teaching at Brother Martin, Jesuit, and Rummel, Mr. Jarrott landed his “dream job” in February of 2021 when he took over as the head football coach at De La Salle High School, his alma mater.
One of Mr. Jarrott’s greatest gifts is his ability to foster relationships with his players and students. His dedication to molding boys into exceptional young men does not stop on the practice field, as he understands the vital role he plays in influencing his students throughout their path towards becoming exceptional scholars, professionals, fathers, and citizens. He truly values waking up every day with the mindset that he is going to do something positive to impact lives.
His journey is just beginning and the future is bright for both De La Salle High School and the Holy Name of Jesus community as Mr. Jarrott continues to make us proud!
