An education at Holy Name of Jesus School is rooted in deep tradition, creativity, discovery, and collaboration. At HNJ, we focus on educating the whole child, as all instruction, enhanced by state-of-the-art technology, is geared toward the special nature of the child and developing their unique talents and interests.
Through close partnership with families, teachers work to understand, to guide, and to nurture their students in growing intellectually, socially, and spiritually. By celebrating and encouraging areas of strength while addressing those needing development, teachers and parents work together on behalf of each child.
Developing skills in reading, writing, and mathematics as well as exposure to the world around them provides students with a solid foundation for future academic achievement. Children use their skills to think creatively and to work cooperatively.
Holy Name of Jesus School believes in strong academics through research-based strategies and pedagogy. We understand that students learn in a variety of styles, and we aim to teach to the individual learner while continually striving for academic excellence. Holy Name of Jesus provides a variety of enrichment classes that promote the spiritual, emotional, social, and physical development of children.
“The Nest” is a state-of-the-art intervention room with a staff of five interventionists who assist students who need additional support in math or reading. These teachers collaborate closely with classroom teachers and parents to create a personalized, adaptive learning plan to fit each of their student’s academic needs. Our interventionists meet with teachers regularly and keep a close eye on student data to identify any students who may need their assistance.
